Teeth that have sustained traumatic injury can crack in many different ways. A fractured cusp is a fracture to the chewing surface of the tooth, a vertical crack is a fracture that extends from the surface of the tooth down to the root, and a vertical root fracture is the opposite, a fracture that extends from the root to the surface. There are also cases of split teeth which is when the tooth is completely broken into two pieces. Cracks can even be microscopic in scale but still cause discomfort. If you are suffering from a Midland cracked tooth, it is important to schedule an appointment with us at West Texas Endodontics as soon as possible. Our skilled endodontists will evaluate your condition and provide a treatment plan to promptly restore your oral health. In many cases, if the tooth is salvageable, root canal therapy may be necessary to eliminate infection and seal the tooth to prevent any subsequent reinfection.

In fact, the root canal treatment is the very thing that will alleviate not only pain, swelling, infection – but can save the tooth itself.  At West Texas Endodontics, we specialize in 79757 root canal therapy so you can rest assured you are in the most capable hands. Endodontist in Midland

Are you in need of a an Endodontist in Midland?

Getting the appropriate care for complex conditions affecting your health requires the care of a specialist. This is also true for seeking the care of an endodontist for dental problems affecting the nerve inside of a tooth. What’s an endodontist you ask? An endodontist has the training of a general dentist but has gone through an advanced specialty program to manage difficult and complicated cases affecting the nerves inside of your teeth. Whether there’s an infection, decay or trauma that has compromised the vitality of your tooth, at West Texas Endodontics, their specialists are fully equipped to provide outstanding care.

As specialists, endodontists make use of highly sophisticated technology for their services, for the most precise and conservative treatment of your teeth. And when it comes to technique, your endodontist in Midland is first rate! In order to become an endodontist, one must exhibit a certain standard of care, and at West Texas Endodontics, their staff are top-notch at what they do. If you’ve sustained injury to your teeth, or have had an unsuccessful root canal in the past, it is an excellent idea to come and visit their office. In such cases, you may require a minor surgical procedure, called an apicoectomy. Some of the time, the canals within your teeth, housing damaged or infected nerve tissue, can be unusually difficult to reach. A standard root canal procedure may not be able to sustain the long-term health of the tooth and it can become re-infected. With an apicoectomy, an incision is typically made in the gums and the affected tissue is cleaned from the underside of the tooth. Then, just like with a root canal, your tooth is sealed with an inert filling, preventing the possibility of a recurring problem.

For treatment from an exceptional endodontist in Midland, we highly recommend visiting West Texas Endodontics. Local anesthesia is always used, and a variety of sedation options may be available depending on your procedure and current health. When inflammation or infection gets to the root of your teeth visit your endodontist! Don’t delay; call West Texas Endodontics today.

Luckily, your Midland endodontists are trained to do their utmost in saving your teeth, particularly for difficult and complicated cases. What’s even worse, is that if left untreated, in some cases the crack can worsen, even reaching a point where the tooth completely divides into two segments. Therefore, if you’ve sustained an injury to your teeth, it’s best that you see one of the professionals at West Texas Endodontics to make a diagnosis as soon as possible.
